Message from the NEW Resort Management and Owners:

This follows up on our town hall meeting on Saturday, February 18, 2023, regarding the resort fee (“Fee”) to be paid by all renters with the right to access the Fripp Island Golf & Beach Resort (“The Resort”). This Fee will apply to both Resort Lodging Property Owner Members (“Resort Owners”) and Non-Resort Lodging Property Owner Members (“Non-Resort Owners”), as defined in the next paragraph. This notice will impact Non-Resort Owners and will not impact Resort Owners, as Resort Owners have been charging the Fee to their renters for 20+ years.

“Resort Owners” are defined as members of The Resort that rent their homes though The Resort’s lodging services and members who choose not to rent their homes at all. “Non-Resort Owners” are defined as members of The Resort who rent their properties through a Non-Resort rental enterprise or service. This includes third-party lodging, property management companies, and members that rent through third-party rental channels such as Airbnb or directly though contacts or family. “POA” is defined as the Fripp Island Property Owners Association.

The Fee (currently 12.8%) will be in effect for all rental dates in and beyond 2024, and NEW 2023 bookings. 2023 rentals at Non-Resort Owners’ homes that have already been booked with a deposit in hand as of Feb 24, 2023 will not be subject to the Fee. The Fee amount has historically been adjusted at times and may be adjusted again in the future. The current Fee will be calculated as 12.8% of the rental collected before taxes, guest cards, and cleaning fees. The Resort Fee will be charged by the resort staff in the Club Office when you purchase Guest Cards for renters. Non-Resort Owner property owners may exempt renters already booked with a bona fide deposit for 2023.
